Disabled Veterans Outreach Program
Special programs are available through the Association for Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV), a non-profit public benefit organization with the goal of creating opportunities for SDVs to achieve and maintain their rehabilitation through enterprise development and managed employment.

Your local WorkOne works with DWD's Veteran Service Program to provide specific job placement services to qualifying veterans. Trade Adjustment
Assistance Services
WorkOne partners with IDWD in administering the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program. Established under the
Trade Act of 1974. The federal TAA Program provides aid to workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports. Workers whose employment is adversely affected by increased imports may apply for TAA. The effort offers benefits and services to help unemployed workers prepare and obtain suitable employment. Workers may be eligible for training, job search and relocation allowances, income support and other services.
Trade Readjustment
Act Services
Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA) is income support to persons who have exhausted unemployment compensation and whose jobs were affected by foreign imports. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) provides special benefits under the NAFTA Transitional Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA) program to those who were laid off or had hours reduced because their employer was adversely affected by increased imports from Mexico or Canada or because their employer shifted production to either of these countries. These benefits include paid training for a new job, and financial help in making a job search in other areas or relocation to an area where jobs are more plentiful.
