What Should You Bring?
Being prepared can make all the difference. We recommend bringing:
Several copies of your resume
A strong handshake, a genuine smile, and great eye contact
A notebook and pen
Questions for employers about their company and open positions*
A positive attitude and willingness to introduce yourself
*If possible, research the employers attending before the event so you can tailor your conversations and highlight relevant experience. Ask a WorkOne staff member what companies are on the schedule to attend for the month.
Dress for Success
You don't need an expensive suit, but dressing professionally shows employers you're serious about the opportunity.
Business casual is a great choice:
Clean, properly fitted, and wrinkle-free clothing
Comfortable but professional shoes
Minimal distractions or accessories
Good grooming and confident body language
Tips to Make the Most of Your Visit
Arrive early for the best opportunity to meet recruiters.
Practice a 30-second introduction about yourself.
Be ready to discuss your skills, experience, and career goals.
Keep an open mind—some of the best opportunities may be with employers you hadn't previously considered.
Collect business cards or contact information and follow up with a thank-you email after the event.
