Santa's Hiring! Why a Seasonal Job Might Be the Gift You Need This Holiday Season!

🎅 Looking for a little extra holiday cheer in your paycheck?

While Santa is busy checking his list twice, employers across the country are checking their staffing lists and looking for people to help make the holiday season successful!

November and December are traditionally busy hiring months for retailers, warehouses, shipping companies, hospitality businesses, and holiday attractions. But seasonal employment isn't just for college students or people looking to earn a little extra Christmas cash. It can be a great opportunity for anyone looking to get back into the workforce, gain experience, or fill a gap between permanent jobs.

And here's something to remember: A seasonal job can be a steppingstone, not a detour!

Why Seasonal Employment Makes Sense

Whether you've been out of work for a few months, recently experienced a layoff, or are waiting for the right permanent position, seasonal employment can help you keep moving forward.

Here are a few reasons to consider a temporary holiday job:

  • Fill the employment gap. Instead of having several months with no work history to discuss, you can show that you stayed active, dependable, and engaged in the workforce.

  • Bring home a paycheck. Earn income during a time of year when holiday expenses can add up quickly.

  • Build new skills. Customer service, teamwork, inventory management, communication, and time management are valuable skills in almost every industry.

  • Make new connections. Temporary positions introduce you to supervisors, coworkers, and potential future employers.

  • Get your foot in the door. Some employers retain seasonal workers when permanent positions become available. While it's never guaranteed, it can be an opportunity to demonstrate what you bring to the team.

Ho, Ho, Hired! Did You Know Santa Is a Seasonal Employee?

Believe it or not, Santa has an employment opportunity, too!

Cherry Hill Programs operates Santa Central, a professional holiday experience that hires Santas and other seasonal team members to bring holiday magic to shopping centers and other locations.

And this isn't simply putting on a red suit and saying, "Ho, Ho, Ho!"

Here's how it works:

🎅 Santa Is on the Payroll! Santas are paid employees of Cherry Hill Programs, with weekly direct deposit payroll and insured work coverage.

🎄 The Wardrobe Is Included! Official Santa suits are provided, including two primary suits and an emergency backup. Natural and synthetic beards are accepted.

📸 It Takes a Team! Santa doesn't work alone. Holiday teams also include festive helpers, photographers, and guest coordinators who help create a memorable experience for families.

🎓 Training Comes with the Job! Team members receive specialized training to prepare them for their roles. This includes sensory-friendly practices through the Santa Cares program, helping create welcoming experiences for children with different sensory needs.

❤️ Spreading More Than Holiday Cheer! Programs such as Santa Cares and Santa Central Cares emphasize inclusion, volunteerism, and community outreach.

And yes, there are opportunities to develop your skills and pursue Santa certification!
