WORKONE N. INDIANA OFFERS WIDE ARRAY OF SERVICES TO JOB SEEKERS FROM WORKPLACE SKILLS ASSESSMENT TO CAREER COUNSELING

     Northern Indiana experienced additional declines in unemployment rates in September 2009, but the recession that has plagued the region and forced hardships on many Hoosiers remains, although not as deep as before.
      The jobless rate for the entire five-county region dropped to 12.0 percent in September '09, a substantial improvement from 12.8 percent during the prior month. Yet taking account of the benchmark unemployment rate in September '08 of 7.8 percent shows some of the economic pain during the recession, which began in December 2007.
