The Board is Responsible for Indiana's Economic Growth Region 2, including Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties

hese individuals serve as members of the Northern Indiana Workforce In- vestment Board. Appointed by local gov- ernment officials from the five counties of Indiana's Economic Growth Region 2, board members serve the Northern Indiana region as volunteers, and they are responsible for establishing administrative policies and procedures for the operations of WorkOne Northern Indiana.

On Building 292,000-Member Workforce
Among other topics, members regularly discuss overarching ideas and proposals to strengthen the training, educational at- tainment, workplace readiness, and soft skills of the region's workforce of 292,000 individuals. The volunteer board is re- sponsible for implementing the federal Workforce Investment Act, the federal Wagner-Peyser Act, other federal laws and policies, and numerous Indiana policies.
