Business Consultant Full-Time 

 

The Business Consultant promotes the development of skilled workforce to meet the labor needs of employers and encourages their use of WorkOne’s services and programs in Kosciusko County.
 

Shift and Compensation

  • $45,000 a year salary 

  • Monday– Friday   

  • 8am to 4:30pm    


Job Duties

  • Partner with the local economic development professionals, local elected officials & company management teams on business attraction & retention & expansion initiatives, provide labor market information, workforce skills availability, and WorkOne services.

  • Collect business intelligence from employers in the region and other major contributors ito the regional economy.  Works with Center Manager and Business Services Management to assess business needs and deliver workforce training resources (i.e. work experience programs, recruitment & retention strategies & customized training,etc.)to contritbute to the regional strategic plans.   

  • Manage specific employer-focused programs/grants including organizing, planning, securing approves of program expenditures and/or validating eligibility qualifications to ensure compliance with program guidelines, policies & documentation requirements

  • Monitor specifically assigned employer-focused grant outcomes and expenditures against program budgets/targets including but not limited to business services activities, work based learning activities (e.g. OJT’s, WorkExperiences, etc) other grant expenditures, etc, compose monthly reports & work with Center Manager & Business Service Management to implement corrective action to meet goals          

  • Troubleshoot issues concerning employer participation in WorkOne programs – gathering details, interacting with business management, getting input from workOne staff & work with Center Manager & Business Services Management to provide directives/guidance for resolution of issue.

  • Establish & maintain constructive relationships with companies utilizing WorkOne services through follow-up activities, (e.g. communication of new products & services, invitations to relevant events and follow up meetings) to ensure that WorkOne’s services are beneficial and easy to utilize.

  • Develop and plan customized hiring events for employers seeking candidates.  Work with Center Staff to execute the plan.

  • Conducts formal follow-up with exited customers to collect outcome information and assess the need for additional WorkOne services and support.  

  • Work with employers to develop training plans for workers hired through the work experience program.    Track and monitor worker attendance and progress throughout the training plan and develop contracts and other administrative documents in support of the work experience process

 

Background Profile

  • Minimum of three years professional work experience.   

  • Experience with outside sales and customer services preferred.
