orkOne cooperates with organizations to provide employment and training services to qualifying individuals and to assist businesses seeking to fill positions or expand workforces.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Develop- ment (DWD), working with WorkOne Centers, administers Indiana’s employment and training programs, as well as the unemployment in- surance system. Go to DWD's website for details on employment services, veterans’ employment, and special circumstances for dislocated workers related to the Trade Adjustment Act and Trade Readjustment Act.

Continuing education is important for everyone in the Northern Indiana workforce.

Transition Resources (TRC) provides employment and training services to farmworkers and their dependents who meet certain eligibility requirements. Case managers who speak both English and Spanish are located at WorkOne Centers. Click for more information on TRC plus migrant and seasonal farmworker assistance.



WorkOne refers qualifying individuals to the St. Joseph County Division of Family Resources (DFR) for programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Indiana Manpower and Comprehensive Training (IMPACT) service. For details on these programs, visit St. Joseph County DFR.



ADEC Resources for Independence assists people with physical or mental disabilities in making informed career choices and using support services to plan, obtain and keep a job. ADEC services may include vocational counseling and guidance, job training and coaching, limited transportation assistance, and follow-along services to ensure success on a new job. Experience Works is a national, nonprofit, community-based organization whose mission is to put the experience of older individuals to work. WorkOne partners with Experience Works to enroll eligible job seekers age 55 and older in the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). The program more than doubles the individual's chances of finding appropriate training and jobs in the private sector. For details on the programs, go to Referrals for Job Seekers Over 55.



WorkOne makes referrals for job seekers age 55 and older to local service providers such as REAL Services Inc., serving Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph counties. For details on the programs, click to Referrals for Job Seekers Over 55.



The Indiana Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation provides services to help people with disabilities prepare for and obtain employment. WorkOne refers eligible individuals with disabilities to the Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) office in South Bend. For details, (574) 232-4861 or VRS website.
