orkOne helps employers meet workforce needs even when seasonal, business, or economic conditions force the elimination of positions, a general reduction in workforce, layoffs, or a facility closure. WorkOne staff members work with employers to ease the transition for workers, reduce disruption to your business, and meet governmental guidelines.
Conversely, if you hire previously dislocated workers who are underemployed in their current jobs, your business may qualify for subsidized training. Other programs provide training, edu- cation, and other resources to assist migrant and seasonal workers to move into full-time employment. Your Business Services Representative will work with you to design a plan of action specific to your situation. There are a number of services available to employers facing circumstances that compel them to eliminate jobs.
DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAMS
Offer Employers Assistance, Too
One of the simplest ways for an employer to assist dislocated workers is through the Rapid Response System from WorkOne, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The Indiana Rapid Response Team works with employers to get workers ready before the layoff occurs. The pro
gram provides con- fidentiality to business decisions and offers onsite assistance designed to meet your specific situation; more- over, the response team links employers to state programs that provide financial assistance to businesses that are committed to offering training opportunities for Hoosiers.
If your business has been ad- versely affected by increased imports, or shifts in production to certain countries, or international trade agreements such as NAFTA, your workers may qualify for the federal Trade Adjust- ment Assistance and Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance programs. And we have special, dedicated services for the seasonal layoff of farm workers. Other services available to your employees may include resume assistance, computer training, occu- pational skills training, career assessment and counseling.
In order to help dislocated workers, WorkOne centers have both staff members with job-search expertise as well as computers and other technology to help individuals land on their feet. A robust web portal, IndianaCareerConnect.com, provides Hoosiers with fast, efficient and comprehensive job-search services.

WORKONE HELPS EMPLOYERS
Comply with Government Regulations
WorkOne can assist employers in meeting government regulations related to workforce changes. For example, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires that employers provide 60 days notice in advance of both plant closings and mass layoffs covered under the statute. This notice must be provided to either affected workers or their representatives, such as a labor union, as well as to the state dislocated-worker unit and local government. Your Business Services Representative can assist you in complying with the WARN Act.
