Be aware of what's happening during an interview when an employer says: Tell me about yourself?

In posing this question, the interviewer is giving you an opening to briefly talk about how your job skills and experience would fit into the open position. Days before the interview, you should have prepared by thinking through how your skills, abilities, and accomplishments mesh with the job duties. Remember: The employer isn't interested in your favorite movies or foods!

Be True

While it is important to sell yourself in an interview, do not overestimate your abilities.

Custom Job Fair

If you are looking for a lot of people, consider holding your own job fair at WorkOne.

Disability Hotline

The Job Accommodation Network assists employers who want to hire someone with a disability. The toll free number is (800) 526-7234.

Downsizing?

Use WorkOne to minimize the impact of layoffs on your company and workers.

Dress Code?

Always dress one level above the requirements of the position for which you are interviewing.

Dress for Success

Dress conservatively for the interview. Remember you are trying to make an unforgettably positive first impression.

During a job interview or when you're networking, always make good eye contact; it's important!

Making good eye contact with the interviewer during a job interview is very important. Why? Because your level of eye contact during a conversation — either strong, moderate or weak — is a key method of non-verbal communication, and the interviewer will pick-up signals about you from the strength, or weakness, of your eye contact!

Equal Interviewing

Treat the individual with a disability the same as you would treat anyone else coming in for the interview.

Glad Hand

Make sure you give the interviewer a firm handshake.
