spacer

Worker hearing about dislocation. you have been separated from your employment through no fault of your own because of a company or facility closing, reduction in workforce, job elimination, or downsizing, you may qualify for special assistance through the Rapid Response Initiative and Dislocated Workers Program. Services are available for all levels of dislocated workers — from salaried managers through entry-level hourly workers — and may include:

 1) increased imports;

 2) production shifting to certain countries; and
 3) international trade agreements such as the North American Free Trade Agreement.

WorkOne also delves into seasonal industries and has special, dedicated services for farm workers undergoing seasonal layoffs. For farm workers seeking full-time jobs, these services may include career counseling, job readiness training, and referrals for supportive services. We also offer classes in English as a second language as well as GED training.

Displaced Homemakers
Furthermore, WorkOne offers assistance tailored to help displaced homemakers — indi- viduals who depended on another family member for at least 51 percent of household income but lost these funds through either of two scenarios:

 1) divorce; or
 2) the wage-earner was separated from his or her employment through no fault of their own.

WorkOne centers house Information Resource Areas filled with all kinds of useful infor- mation, everything from job leads to testing tools. WorkOne staff members, moreover, offer follow-through services to help ensure continued success in a worker’s new job.
