f you are eligible for full-time employment, your WorkOne Center has an employment system available to you through a robust web portal, Indiana Career Connect.com. Moreover, individual agencies can help young people with training and placement. The state launched IndianaCareerConnect.com in July 2008 to direct individuals to enhanced career advancement tools as well as provide employers with quick and efficient access to candidates. The site offers a hefty menu of services to individuals and employers at no charge.
IndianaCareerConnect.com offers individuals the most comprehensive source of Indiana job openings as well as help in aligning his or her skills to available jobs. Moreover, the site provides employers with access to a large database of job seekers and highlights qualified individuals with necessary experience and workplace abilities. The website's features for individuals include: n find a job; n create a resume; n explore a career; and n research the job market. Meanwhile, employers have access to offerings such as: n find a candidate; n post a job; n research candidate trends; and n gather general labor market information.

Do I need parental consent to participate?

arental consent is required for indivudals ages 14 to 17 if he or she intends to participate in a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) youth service. However, if you are at least age 18, you may walk-in and receive WorkOne services.

How do I apply for childcare?

hildcare services may be available through various WorkOne partners, depending upon the county in which you live. Contact your local WorkOne Center for information.

How do I apply for unemployment benefits?
|
|
o apply for unemployment benefits, go to the Uplink service of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, or, if you don't have Internet access, go to your nearest full service WorkOne Center as soon as you become unemployed. You will be required to report your last employer's name, mailing address, phone number and dates of employment as well as your address, Social Security number and phone number.
To apply for unemployment benefits in person, go to your nearest WorkOne Center as soon as you become unemployed. Please bring some form of identification that includes your Social Security number.
